Lightning and a Horse

Boy have I missed blogging these past days! I have had so much to do that I feel like  have barely had one moment to just sit and enjoy some quality time with my blog. That doesn't sound strange at all..
Now, I am not back for full just quite yet, because this next week is just as packed as this one has been, but in one week it is December and guess who is doing a "Twelve Days of Christmas" blogathon? (Don't even know if it should be called a blogathon .. Tag is probably better but oh well) Yes, you're right, that is me!

I am not exactly sure what I will write about but every other day in December up until the 24th I will write a post featuring something christmas-y. Whether it may be about fashion/beauty/food/tips it will be relevant for the christmas preparations. So just let me know if there are some specific things you would like me to write about. Maybe tips for Christmas/New Years Eve outfits or makeup/hair styles? Anything you want - let me know and I will keep it in mind! :)

Now today I have been working on a presentation I am having on Monday so I havent left the house except for a quick trip to the grocery store, so my makeup and clothing is fairly casual and comfy, but I will share it anyways.. and yes, I am wearing my horse print top from Urban Outfitters - again. Why? Because I absolutely love it.

I how you are all having a wonderful Saturday! Talk to you all as soon as I can!

PS: From today of the posts from when I was in Colombia will be deleted simply because I have filled up the space I am given to use for free by blogger and I don't feel like it is necessary to have them anymore :) Just thought I would let you know.

O.P.I The World Is Not Enough

A sudden gap in posts there, sorry about that, but it has been a busy week filled with school, interviews,  ballet's, and some exciting opportunities. Anyway, I will come back to that another time, right now - lets talk nails!

My parents went away last  weekend  and my mom brought a mini set of the O.P.I Skyfall collection. I have seen a few bloggers mention them but I didn't really plan on getting them for myself, but here I am - completely in love with all four of them! The past few days I have opted for the gorgeous, glittery, iridescent silver called "The World Is Not Enough". It is pretty sheer but 3 quick coats and you should be ready to go with a opaque layer of gorgeousness on the tip of your fingers. As for the lasting power - I find it to stay put and not chip, I have been wearing this one for 3 days now and it is only a little faded on the tips but nothing too bad.

I would definitely recommend you to go check this collection out, and if you don't want to go for the full sizes then try the mini's - that way you get to try 4!

How Much Is Your Face Worth?...um what?

First of all, the name of this tag can very easily be misunderstood, but believe me - it is simply just a tag where you list the makeup products you wear on an everyday basis, and sum up the price to see how much all the products are worth all together. So in other words you see how much your face is worth.

I have seen this tag float around the beauty blogger/vlogger community for quite some time, but as I haven't really seen myself as the tag kind-of-girl I haven't gotten around to doing it until now... But here it is:

The How Much Is Your Face Worth Tag
I will just start listing the products that find their way to my face on a regular basis...

(Some of the products were bought on sale an others I have simply
converted from other currencies to pounds and rounded the decimals up to make it
"cleaner" -it didn't really make much of a difference..)

Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanner - £ 25
Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Mousturizer - £ 33
Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit - £ 6
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - £ 4
Maybeline Dream Lumitouch Concealer - £ 9
Benefit BrowZings - £ 20
Revlon Brow Styling Gel - £ 6
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £ 4
TopShop Highlighter - £ 10

Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner - £ 4
Maybeline One by One Waterproof Mascara - £ 7
MAC Lipstick - £ 14

Total sum: £ 142

Now that is quite a price tag... but honestly I was prepared for a higher number so I am ok with this. Now I don't always wear all of these products, and not always these exact ones, but I chose the core products that I use the most. I hope this was a little interesting - I was pretty curious to find out myself! I tag any of you who come across this to do the same thing; gather your everyday makeup, and sum it all up in a post on your blog (if you have one), or leave it as a comment here on this post!

Something Blue...

I was in a skirt mood today... aaand in a colour mood so I ended up with a blue zip-up skirt  and some thick tights from H&M, an Urban Outfitters horse print top and my beloved Zara spiky leather jacket. Now since I went with colours today I wanted to share it with you, my readers :)

My "headband" is really a bandeau but it does the trick and it is from Monki
Ear - "chain" or whatever you would call it is from TopShop and I absolutely adore it!

Hope you are having a good day!

Photoshoot

Today I have taken on a pretty fun project : making my creative portfolio for my University application!  Since I'm not very much of a designer or a drawer I decided to focus my portfolio on pictures, editing, styling (hair +fashion) and makeup. Oh, for the record I am applying to Fashion Marketing with a few twists, at a few different universities in the UK. Not all of the universities require a portfolio for this course as it is not an extremely creative/"crafty" type of study, however some of them do, and therefore I have to make one.

I have gotten a few of my friends to help me out by being my "models" and Ingeborg was the first one out, today. I have had a chance to look through the pictures and edit a few of them, so I thought I could share some of them with you! Keep in mind that I am not a professional photographer, stylist nor makeup artist, I am just doing something I love and find interesting. Now lets take a look at this beautiful girl!

I wanted to do my take on the thick smoked out eyeliner Ã  la Lanvin, and so I did. As for the skin, I went for a glowing, bronzed skin to balance the dramatic eyes and the dark berry lips.
The products I used were:

Skin // Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanner, CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua (In B10 Beige-Pastel), Maybeline Dream Lumitouch concealer, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (2 Light), Sleek Contour Kit (Medium), TopShop Highlighter (Crescent Moon), MAC blush (Fleet Fast - Limited Edition Summer 2012), Maybeline Blush (76 Golden Bronze) and RIMMEL Stay Matte Powder (001 Transparant)

Eyes // Maybeline Colour Tattoo (40 Permanent Taupe), Maybeline Lasting Drama Gel Liner (01 Black), L'oréal Super Liner (Carbon Black), Urban Decay Eyeshadows (Blackout, Bootycall, Foxy), MAC eyeshadow (Omega - this was also what I used for the eyebrows), Maybeline Flared Mascara and Ardell False Lashes (120 Demi)

Lips // In picture 1 and 3: MAC Lipstick (Rebel) and Revlon Kissable BalmStain (Crushed)
In Picture 2: MAC Cremesheen Glass (Over Indulgence) and e.l.f Lipstick (Party Pink)

Headband is from H&M.

What do you think about the pictures?
Would you like a tutorial on this (if yes - video or pictures w/description?)

Winter Time

As winter is approaching quickly and Christmas with it, I want of share some of my favourite things about this season. Autumn and winter is a very "love it or hate it" season, I for one, don't particularly love the cold and rainy (or god forbid slouchy and snowy)  weather because it means I end up being cold and wet whenever I decide to step outside my house. I do however like the fact that this is the time of year when you can justify drinking one too many cups of tea, and snuggle up in blankets with candles burning everywhere. There is something relaxing, safe and comforting about winter. When the temperature drops to below zero and the walls of your house are creaking, you can bury yourself deep down among pillows and blankets with a good book. Maybe you've heard about these things before, but really, they are pretty darn great.

The reason to why I am writing a post about blankets, candles, books and winter is because well, today is cold and rainy and ..pretty "winter-y", and if it's like that where you are too, then maybe you should try this out, because it helps :)

I feel like Im back on the blogger roll now with frequent posting and a variety in my posts, but if you feel like there's something you would like to see that you feel is missing, then please let me know in the comments :)

Do you have things you like to do on cold and grey winter days?

My Style: Animal Printed Top

Here is a little post on yesterday's outfit - thought I should share it since it features two of my current favourite clothing items. The jeans are the Leigh Skinny Jeans from TopShop and the top is from Urban Outfitters.

I love that these jeans are super skinny but not tight if that makes sense, they are simply amazing! I will definitely get my hands on a few more of these the next time I'm in a TopShop, and I highly reccomend you to try a pair too if you ever get the chance. As for the top - I love the print! And I have to say, Urban Outfitters has become my favourite store...it's like number 1, right on the top of the list. It is like shopping in a heaven. C'est incroyable!

Ok, now I will leave before I try writing any other languages...

What is your favourite place to shop?

Sneak a peek of my room

My room is under a constant change at the moment so for those of you who have asked about it - a full "tour" of my room will be up once I feel like it is more or less ok-looking. But as I have no idea of how long that may take, I thought I would give you a sneak-peek in the meantime. The chosen area to be revealed is my makeup table / vanity. I am happy with the way it is right now, but judging by experience I will probably get bored of it soon enough and change it..but oh well I will figure that out when the time comes :)

As for what I store on and in this table/desk/vanity (what would you say this piece of furniture is??) it is mainly my makeup, brushes and well as you can see, candles and perfumes. The two drawers are filled with the products I don't use quite as frequently (I'm looking at you, eyeshadows..), plus a few that simply did not have any space elsewhere. If you want me to do a "makeup collection" post I can do so, but I won't do it now, as that would take a while and I don't want to bore you to sleep unless you ask for it. If you are curious about where I got the different things thenwell, here it comes:

Table, the organizer for lipsticks ++ and the mirror // Cachivaches (a store in Colombia)
Silver tray underneath perfumes ++ and the lamp // IKEA

Ok so that wasn't really everything, but all the other things such as the candles, the "religious"barbie-candleholder, the black lady "statue" and the cupcake thingie were all given to me as presents so I don't know where they are from :)

Now let's just wait in excitement for the rest of my room to be finished...

I really do appreciate all of you who keep coming back to read my blog, it makes my day to see that someone out there enjoys to read what I write. Remember that if you ever have a request for me, just leave it as a comment or tweet me - you'll find my twitter link below.

I wish you all a good week!

Bandana Love

Ok, so I'll admit it; I've become addicted to bandanas and headbands... I don't own many, but I sure do love the ones I have! Ususally I'm not much of a "hair down" girl, simply because I don't like having hair flying everywhere, but with bandanas, I get the hair out of my face which is all I am asking for :)

In the pictures above I am wearing a leopard print headband from NewLook that I bought about a year ago. What I love about this one is that it has a metal string inside it which is what shapes to your head and ties/twists together at the top - as tight or loose as you would like. The colour is not bad either as it blends in nicely with my strawberry blonde hair.

My other ones are the regular bandanas which are more or less like handkerchiefs tied around your hed - oh what a lovely description.. I love how they work with almost anything clothing wise and you can wear them with your hair up, down, or however you like :) I definitely got bitten by this trend a little late, as it has subsided a bit now that autumn is here and winter approaches, but oh well - We can still rock it right?

Do you like bandanas & headbands? What is your favourite way of wearing them?

I am sorry for the huge gap in posts this week, I just needed a little break, but I anm back now :)

Have a nice day wherever you may be in the world!
