Diorskin Nude BB Cream

The before shot...
... and the awkward over-happy after shot...
I have the shade 002. Used the Real Techniques Expert Face brush to buff it in.

Why hello there, aren't I late to the bandwagon with this review? The Diorskin Nude BB Cream has been all over the beauty blogging community this spring and summer, and there are very few negative thoughts to be thought about it. I picked it up about 3 weeks ago and have been wearing it almost every day since and I can't say I have any complaints. Yes, it's that good. 30 ml of long-lasting grease-free, dewy, sun-protected flawlessness.

As for how it performs; its coverage can be compared to the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, although I would say the Diorskin provides a bit more of a flawless finish. It feels very smooth and light when you apply it and blending or buffing it in is no problem at all. It is a no fuzz kind of product which I love. Once applied, it sets in a matter of seconds and your skin appears more even, glowy and flawless without looking like you are wearing any make-up at all. Unlike many BB creams I don't find this one to be greasy even though it is dewy and it hasn't been slipping and sliding, but it stays put all day long. Extra pluses are that it has an spf 10 and there's a pump. Now, there are only 3 shades but I think most people will get away with one of them as it blends in very well. So apart from the price £30 it is a full on winner, and I will probably keep on repurchasing this as I love how it covers enough but doesn't leave me looking like a "cakey" mess nor a grease ball at the end of the day.

Throwing in a last shot of how it looks with a completed look, eyes, brows, contour and all that jazz :) sorry about the dark lighting.. the weather was really odd this day and it was hard to keep up with the moving clouds!

If you want to pick it up and try it yourself, you can order it here with free shipping worldwide :)

Have you tried this BB cream? If so what are your thoughts?
Also let me know in the comments if there are any products you'd like me to review or if you have a request for a make-up look or any kind of post at all :)

Rouge Amour

I am finally getting the blogging 'spirit' back. I lost it for a bit back there and along with being a bit busy I just neglected the whole idea of snapping and typing. Now however I enjoy every tap that my fingers get to do whether it's on the camera button or the keyboard. That's not what I'm here to talk about today though, you see I have been very into red lips lately and I figured it was about time I introduced you to my little red collection.

 1. Lancôme Rouge In Love #170N  2. Bourjois Rouge Edition #10 Rouge Buzz  3. Revlon Lip Butter #35 Candy Apple  4. Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Flame  5. TopShop Lip Paint in Yeah Right  6. Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer #501 Stellar  7. MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry

As you can see I am leaning over on the drugstore side but when it comes to lip products I find that the 'high street' brands do them just as well, if not better sometimes, as 'high end' ones. I am a sucker for longevity so 3 of them are of the 'lip stain' sort (#4, 5 & 6) and the cherry lip pencil is something every red-lip-loving girl should have. It is brilliant, gorgeous and does not leave your lips. The lip butter is definitely the sheerest out of the bunch but just like the Bourjois Rouge Buzz it can be both very sheer and very opaque, depending on how you apply it. My go-to glamour red is the Lancôme one. It is silky smooth, a bit glossy and the most perfect shade of red.

So those are my red babies that I have been whipping out a lot lately. Nothing beats sunkissed skin, light, natural makeup and a bold red lip. I would love to hear what your favourites are when it comes to bolder lip shades, so let me know in the comments!

Also, I now have a facebook page and would love you to death if you'd head over and click the like button :) Link HERE!

Em

Smudged Blue

I'm warning you ..There's a very annoying strand of hair that decided to join in on the pictures below, and to add to it the lash band on my falsies wasn't covered well enough so you can see them as well. oh, the joy of life huh?

Sometimes you don't want to spend a lot of time on your make-up but you still want to look like you have put some effort in. It might be for a party, a normal day, a dinner, a date - anything really, but for those times it is good to have a look or two stored in the back of your head that you know is quick but will make a big difference. This make-up look is one of those. All you need is 3 products.

I know there are 4 products here but the concealer is optional ;)

Dig out a black eye pencil/khol liner and another one in a colour of your choice, although the result is best if this colour is a dark one (green, blue, purple, brown/bronze). Then find a warm shimmery eye shadow, cream shadow or eye pencil that you will later use as an inner corner highlighter. If you need it grab your under eye concealer, then a flat and dense brush as well as a small, fluffy shader brush. Now, let's get on to the step-by-step.

1. Line your lash line with the coloured pencil. Make the line quite thick with a little flick, then smudge it from the top by using the dense brush. Don't smudge it too much, only to the point where it is not a very harsh line. Make sure not to take it up too far towards the crease.

2. Using the black liner, draw a thin line very close to the lashes to make a more intense and dimensional look.

Do both of those steps to the bottom lash line as well. Just make sure not to take it too far down.

3. Use the highlight shade and pat it in the inner corner with the shader brush (or your finger). you can also take some of this on your brow bone to highlight that as well.

Finish off with mascara and some falsies if you'd like and a touch of your concealer under your eyes and you're done! If you feel like making it less quick and more dramatic, add some eyeshadow such as MAC's Soba or Cork all over the lid. It will deepen the look further and make your eyes look extra smokey and seductive. Hope you enjoyed this quick and easy tutorial. If you try it let me know how it worked out :)

Em

The Review - Eyeko Skinny Mini Eyeliner

As I'm sure many of you've seen, this month's issue of Marie Claire comes with a little gift in the form of the Eyeko Skinny Mini Liquid Eyeliner. I am all for lovely little complementary gifts so when I came back from scotland last week I picked up an issue. The mag itself was as always a nice read but if I'm completely honest it was the liner that drew me in with this one. Now over to the review!

Hands down, I think this is the best liner I've tried. It's opaque, easy to apply either as a fine line or a thicker one, if you want a flick or a wing this makes that an easy task. And on top of it all it lasts all day, and does not budge, smudge, run or smear. And I am talking from experience as I've tested the bad boy in all sorts of climate; moderate heat, rain, brisk-y and cold (went up north to visit family) and in the incredibly hot heat wave that's decided to stop by us Norwegians for a while (thank you for sharing the sun UK:) ) So I think its safe to sat that at least on me, a girl with slightly oily eyelids (nothing a little bit of primer can't handle) this is a keeper for the times when you want a long lasting eyeliner, which let's face it is pretty much everyday.

Hope you enjoyed this post, if you've tried this eyeliner or have another favourite then please do share your thoughts in the comments :)

Em

Give Me a Chance... or Three?

As you saw in one of my most recent posts (Duty Free Haul), I am a bit in love with the Chanel Chance perfume(s). The thing is I am this obsessed with them:

And you see the big empty original one to the left? That is my third one of the eau de toilette. I know, I am a bit of a crazy one, but look elsewhere for an apology because these three babies are the best smelling round glass bottles anyone could ever dream of and you are missing out if you've never had a sniff.

I won't attempt a detailed description of what exactly the Chance scents smell like, but I will insert what the people Chanel say:

Eau de Toilette
It's your chance . . . TAKE IT! A decidedly young scent for those who dare to dream. A light, subtly sensual fragrance, filled with vitality and energy, evolves from one moment to the next, each wholly unique.

Eau Fraíche
CHANCE Eau Fraîche, a vibrant incarnation of the unexpected fragrance, now takes on a sparkling freshness. The unexpected floral bursts with a lightness and zest as notes of citrus, Water Hyacinth and Jasmine Absolute are highlighted and energized with woody notes of Amber of Patchouli and Fresh Vetiver.

Eau Tendre
CHANCE, the country’s bestselling fragrance family, reveals its newest facet, CHANCE EAU TENDRE. CHANEL Master Perfumer Jacques Polge reimagines the decidedly young scent in a constellation of tender and vibrant notes, at once delicate and airy, with an intoxicatingly light, fruity trail.

So to sum it up it is a slightly sensual fragrance that is filled with energy and youth. Eau Fraíche, which is limited edition I believe, has some added citrus as well as hints of floral and woody notes. Eau Tendre is definitely the lightest one and in my opinion quite floral, but it remains fresh, clean and youthful. I love all these fragrances and doubt I'll be roaming the shelves for any replacements anytime soon. I highly suggest that you ask for a little tester next time you're at a perfume retailer ;)

What is your favourite fragrance?

Lots of Love,
Em

Duty Free Pick-Ups

Alright, so I am back from Scotland and T in the Park (which was amazing and epic by the way), and with me I bring a few sneaky treats from the duty free's great selection.

I have been eyeing the Chanel perfume for ages now as I am already a fan of the original eau de toilette version as well as the eau tendre, and I finally got round to actually getting it. A fresh, female and flirty (but not sweet) scent that it seems like everyone tends to like. I suggest you go have a sniff at it the next time it crosses your path :) Next I got the Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream, and boy do I get what the hype's about! I'll do a review on it, but hold on to your horses because this is a knock out! Then as a last minute 'throw it in your bag before its your turn to pay' pick up I found the OPI nail polish in 'Red Lights Ahead..Where?' in a box next to the check out. Hate it when they do that - I always end up buying things just because they're there not because I necessarily want or need them. Luckily this wasn't one of those products, but rather a real home-run that I have been sporting since the moment I got home. A gorgeous coral with hints of red and a name that I happen to love.

I am very satisfied with the three goodies I got, although my bank account might feel otherwise... Anyway, new post will be up in not too long!

Lots of Love,
Em

June Beauty Favourites

Wow this year just flies by doesn't it? I can't believe it is already July! Oh well, I can't say I am complaining, summer is definitely my favourite season. But time and weather aside, as a new month has arrived the best beauty gems from the past one are brought out into light to be shared with the rest of the beauty-obsessed community. And without further or-do, here are mine!

In June I had a bit of a "summer clean-out" of my make-up which led to rediscoveries of long forgotten products. One of them being the Nars Blush and Contour Trio (1.) containing the well known blusher Orgasm, the highlighter Albatros and everyone's favourite bronzer Laguna. I got back into using this and could not for the life of me understand why I'd ever stopped, then the mini spots on my cheeks returned and the dreaded memory returned, reminding me that these are no-no products if I want my skin to be spot-free. Apart from that - with these three on my face I get the best looking healthy, bronzed glow I've ever had, hence it is a fave.

Number 2 is a newbie, brought back from Colombia. The Real Techniques Blush Brush is a big star in my brush collection now a days. Looking for a multitask brush - this is it. Blush, bronzer, contour, setting powder - this bad boy does it all. Number 3 is one of the products Molly sent me (post here) and it is one of her favourites too. Of course I'm talking about the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara - ahh there are nothing but good things to say about this.

4 is a new everyday staple, the Revlon Brow Fantasy in Brunette. Makes doing your brows very quick and easy. Number 5 has been worn almost every day since I got it, Teddy Eye Khol by MAC (haul here). Just like the eye khol, I have been wearing the MAC Eyeshadow Cork more or less on a daily basis. It is a perfect neutral, soft brown for the lid/crease.

Number 7 and 8 have made up my base along with the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser most days, the Rimmel Wake Me Up gives the dewy, glow my face needs for long hours at work and MAC Studio Finish Concealer (another rediscovery) hides any sign of late nights or too much sugar that your skin may be sporting.

All in all this has been a good beauty months - I have gotten a bit of a new routine and I am no longer stuck wearing my same-old same old smokey liner and tinted moisturiser look. High Five for that eh?

Alright, I'll leave you with that, but before I go I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has followed me on bloglovin' lately and also let you know that I now have a Facebook Page you can like!
