Modelling, Internship & Fever Time

Hello! It's been a while, and I'm sorry about that but I've been prettty caught up in coursework, nice weather, stepping into the world of modelling, preparing for and starting my internship with Marie Claire, at the same time as dealing with being more ill than I thought I was capable of. Over the past weeks I've been lucky enough to have a cold go from just a bit annoying to very bad to what I reckon was a bad case of the dreaded flu, fever and all. On top of that I also managed to get an eye infection and have just been feeling a bit drained, but I'm well on my way to recovery now (I hope...touch wood)! Apart from being ill I have to say life has been pretty good lately and now I shall return to my blog with lots of inspiration.

As I mentioned above I have very recently started modelling for the Manchester based agency J'adore Models  and although I've only done a couple shoots so far I've enjoyed it a lot. They scouted me last autumn at Vouge's Fashion Night Out but I kept putting off getting in touch with them up until now. You can see pictures from one of the shoots on their website jadoremodels.co.uk.

My Internship has, to be honest, been a bit 'so so' this far. I wasn't expecting much but as a beauty intern I was expecting to at least work with beauty related tasks but up until today all I got to do was e-mail fashion brands for 8 hours a day, asking if they have any clothes we can borrow for a big upcoming shoot. Yesterday I got to help cut out images for trendboards and today was actually the most interesting day so far as I got to call out to make-up brands to have them send up products. I can't complain - it is a very good opportunity to get experience and contacts and will look great on my CV, but I think everyone can relate to having a bad start somewhere new. It looks like I will have some more variety in what I get to do from now on though so that's  great.

So yeah, I am currently in London trying to do my best at Marie Claire whilst revising for exams and doing coursework - and getting very addicted to Game of Thrones... bad combo, but such a good show I can't stop now that I've started.

A little collage from some of the things I've done the past month.

I just wanted to update those of you who may want to know what's up, but from now on my posts will go back to their normal beauty/fashion content. If you want to keep up with what I do at MC head over to my Instagram and Twitter where I'll post a lot more about it.

A beauty post will be up this weekend so keep an eye out for that!

Love,
 Em
