Emma Hardy, The Queen of Skincare

For about a year I have been lusting after the Emma Hardy Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm. Partly due to viviannadoesmakeup's much repeated love for it but also due to the idea of rubbing a oily balm on my face every morning and night. An idea I found very intriguing. About a month ago I came across it in the sales at feelunique and figured it was a sign. An oversized, blinking, neon light sort of sign. So I bought it and I've now been using it since. The verdict? I am head over heels for it.

My idea did not disappoint nor did Anna. It truly is an amazing cleanser that cleans your skin well without leaving it feel stripped and dry. The oils add moisture and the muslin cloth you wipe it away with (in circular motions) gently exfoliates your face leaving it feel as soft as a baby's bum. A lot of people use this on its own to remove their makeup but I prefer to remove my makeup with the MAC Cleanse Off Oil first and then use this as I don't like to get the muslin cloth covered in makeup. The massive tub will probably last me forever as you only need the tiniest amount to cover your whole face as it melts into an oily consistency once you start applying it.

Have you tried the Cleansing Balm? What did you think of it? Also I would love it if you could give my blog a little follow on Bloglovin' as that really helps me out and means a lot to me :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Newness

A new year means a lot of things. New challenges, experiences, desicions, and changes both big and small. For me the new year meant finally getting round to re-designing my blog. It's something I've been planning for quite a while but I waa firstly not sure what exactly I wanted and secondly was a bit lost as to where to start and how to do things. So I've taken it one step at a time, and tried and failed until I finally ended up with what you see now. It's taken some time, and you might have noticed constant changes on layout, header and so on for the past few weeks - apologies for the mess but it had to be done that way. What I decided to do was clean it all up and make it a very simple layout. I know it's not everyone's taste but I really like it. I wanted it to be easy to navigate without to many buttons, links and stuff going on around the actual posts as I find that to be a bit distracting sometimes. All my links are still at the top so it is easy to follow me on all my social media, the blog archive is all the way at the bottom - below the 4 posts on the page, along with my google friend connect and a few other banners. So more or less everything is still here, just not where it used to be. I really hope you like it and that you will share your thoughts on it with me in the comments. If there's something you think I should definitely change then let me know about that as well :)

As for my coming plans for the SITC (I only just now realised my blog has the same 'initials' as Sex and the City) I have a few little things planned, including a Uni Room Tour if that is something you would all be interested in? Could also include a few tips ++ for what to bring/get and how to make use of the little space you usually get in halls. Would that be interesting?

I just wanted to give you that little update for now. A new proper post will be up in not long - finish my exams on Wednesday so I'll have plenty of time to work on some good content!

And my new short hair is a New Year thing too.

Beauty Innovation

OK,  so I managed to delete this post as I was removing a few undone ones in my archive. Good job Em. I won't write it all again, but I'll make it a quick and short recap of what I wrote in the deleted post.

Basically there is this new website called MyBeautyCompare which is the world's first website where you can compare beauty products' prices. A little while ago they sent me an e-mail asking if I could have a look at their page, see what I thought and share my experience with my readers. I though I'd give it a go and here's my verdict.

First there's a mini survey you fill out when you sign up where you submit your skin tone/type, hair length and so on. This is so that they can give you suggestions and product reccomendations tailored to you. I've had a bit of a play around with the feature and they do give pretty good suggestions as I already have and love some of the products they've mentioned so I know they work for me. There are also reviews, a forum, a blog where there'll be lots of news related to brands and products, video tutorials and a newsletter you can sign up to where you will get special offers. It's a site that has pretty much everything a beauty girl wants and I don't think it will stay new and unknown for long. I will definitely keep using it for whenever I want the best deal on a new product or just want a bit of inspiration as to what to get next.

I highly suggest you have a look at MyBeautyCompare and see what you think - and if you like it you can sign up and get all the good benefits :)

The Big Sale

Stella Shorts // 5 inch and up for Nelly

As you may or may not, this Friday (the17th) is my birthday, and for someone like me, with a bit of an inner shopaholic and their birthday oh so close to Christmas, this time of the year is normally a bit of a massive shopping spree. Combine all that with a growing love for fashion, some very good sales, and a lot of free time and you'll have the full picture that I like to call the past 3 weeks of my life. Basically I have been shopping a bit, and boy have I enjoyed it. I am not going to do a big haul post on it all but I do want to share a few bits with you in my next few posts, starting today with the shorts over all shorts in my opinion. A dark grey (see first two pictures) wool-like main part with a soft white layer under that has slits on the sides. It is the perfect pair for a laid-back spring/summer outfit. I got a few other things as well but these are definitely my favourites. The gorgeous and very stylish Finish blogger Sandra at 5 inch and up is behind the design and made a few more bits and pieces for a collection she did together with Nelly.com a little while back. It's all on sale now but some of her designs are already sold out. However if you want to check out the pieces that are still there you can click here. And if you're just up for browsing some very good deals in general have a look at the rest of the Nelly sale here - it's massive!

With the code Sale10 you'll get an additional 10% off all the sale items, but today is the last day so I do suggest you have a peek asap.

CHLOÉ

Ahh where to begin? The absolutely stunning bottle is a good start. Same as the original but with a pink coloured ribbon tied at the top. Just to add a little something, something. To me it's a better version of the original which in my opinion is a bit too much. Roses de has a more light scent, clearly with the main note being rose. However the rose is not too overpowering - I would know as I am not usually a big fan of the flower's scent, but mixed with the amber and musk that Chloé so cleverly adds to her fragrances it is just the right amount. It is a bit sweeter than the original so a little goes a long way, but unless you plan on go having a bath in it you'll be on the safe side and not smell like a walking macaroon.

Have you any of tried the Chloé fragrances, if so which is your favourite? Also, I would absolutely love it if you'd give my blog a little like on Bloglovin' as it makes my day :) All my other links are at the bottom of this post as usual.

The Endless Hair Dilemma

I'm sure you've all been through it at least once; What to do with your hair? I'm asking myself (and everyone around me) that right now as I have an appointment to go to the hairdresser on Friday (basically tomorrow..) and have absolutely no clue what to do. Well that's a lie. I do have a few ideas of things I'd like, and most importantly I know that I want to change it up somehow. I'm getting a bit bored of long hair that doesnt have anything to it. So, my ideas!

1. Cut it to shoulder length à la Vivianna at viviannadoesmakeup  and Alexa Chung.
2. Finally get an ombre. Think Rachel BilsonLauren Conrad, Gillian Zinser and Alexa Chung
3. Get bangs again, only this time not have them be super thick and heavy, but light like this:

What do you think I should do? I am desperate for a bit of help!
Keep it long or cut it off? Bangs or ombre? A mix?

Tom Ford Love

Please do excuse the 'not brand new-ness'

If there's one High End beauty brand I never really gave too much attention it would have to be Tom Ford. Obviously I've been aware of the very high quality, and as everyone else, heard the loud raves from all the top make-up artists such as Charlotte Tilbury and Lisa Eldridge. The thing is I just always figured I wasn't really missing out on anything by remaining a Tom Ford virgin. Oh how wrong I was.

If there's one thing living in Manchester's done to me it is increase my infatuation with Selfridges' beauty department. A few months back I went in for a browse and happend to end up at the Tom Ford counter after impatiently waiting for 10 minutes at the MAC counter to get a new cleanse off oil (they were out by the way. Yay.), and that was when it dawned on me that this was the definition of a luxury beauty brand.

I ended up being persuaded by the lovely salesman  to buy not only the Shade and Illuminate in 01 but also the last remaining limited edition Cream Colour for Eyes in 05 Pink Haze that he'd found in the back of a drawer that very day. We were both puzzled it was still there when every other item from the LE collection had sold out immediately during summer. Faith that's what I call it. The two products turned out to be my best purchased of a lifetime as I've been using them both more or less every single day since. Both the Shade and Illuminate and the Cream Eyeshadow is creamy, light, non-sticky and long-wearing. The Shade and Illuminate give the most incredible natural glow with the countour not being too orange toned and the highlighter's healthy glow in a pan minus the shimmer. My best friend Harriet is a big fan and ever since we met I have had to ask almost every day how she gets her glow. Now I know. The Cream Eyeshadow is a lovely rosy pink with hints of gold and it is so pigmented the tiniest little dab is enough for an entire lid. Goes well with almost any look and also looks great on its own.

I'll stop going on about my new found love before I sound like a crazy person, but if you want to splurge on a new product I highly reccomend Tom Ford. I would love to hear if you've tried anyhting from the brand or if you have a different luxury brand that you adore. Let me know below!

2013, 2014 & Evertything Else

My 2013 http://flipagram.com/f/hoiZfAFoiW Most of the pictures are from my Instagram

Apparently I'm getting old. At least that's what people tell me when I say how quickly this year's gone by. It's true though, it is as if it's flown by at the speed of light. A new year always mean that we all get a bit of a clean slate, and that we can make the coming year an even better one.

2013 was such a good year, but it was filled to the brim with new, crazy, exciting, all-consuming experiences which made me decide to put all my focus into making the best out of all of it. I lived in the now and tried not to think of everything else for a little bit. It was so nice to be a bit carefree but now it's time to get back in business on all levels, including my blog. I do apologise for the extreme lack of posting on my front, I've had a much needed break but now I'm ready to share all things beauty (and hopefully fashion) with you.

So far on my 2014 agenda is: an internship, some travelling, uni (and glorious exams), skiing, concerts and a few other work opportunities that are yet to be confirmed. In other words it looks like it can be quite the year. As for my resolution this year is to be the best version of me that I can be - in every way, work hard and do the most with the opportunities that I have and get, and just have a good time. I will also be more active in the blogging community again, not only on my blog but be better at interacting and communicating with other fellow bloggers. I would love to hear what you have set as resolutions for the coming year!

I hope this wasn't too rambly and boring, I just wanted to have a little catch up and say a big HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all :) New post will be up very soon so stay tuned for that.
